Markhor backed efforts to revive squash in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, supporting youth and players in the province.
Why squash, and why here
For decades Pakistan dominated world squash, and a remarkable share of that came from one province and in large part from one family in Peshawar. Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan between them held the world game for roughly twenty years.
That era ended, and the structure behind it thinned out. Reviving the sport in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not starting something new — it is rebuilding something the province was once the best in the world at.
What backing looks like
Support at this level goes to players and youth programmes rather than to an elite squad. It is the part of the pipeline that disappears first when funding goes, and the part that decides whether there is a next champion at all.
